![]() But I'm sure there are better adhesives for this task. For example I was considering Continental rim cement used to glue sew up bicycle tires to alloy rims. So my question is this - what kind of adhesives are capable of firmly (high sheer strength) affixing rubber to metal? I've never glued rubber to metal, and am willing to be creative. The other eyecup remains firmly attached. The eyecup also now slips/falls off easily. I have to "pinch" it tightly to activate the underlying twist up mechanism. I can see no obvious ways to "lock" the rubber piece back onto the metal mechanism so that now, when I replace the eyecup it "spins" around the metal structure. I'll try and get some pictures posted shortly, but the eyecup is rubber and it slips down over a thin metal twiist up ring. ![]() ![]() Yesterday when doing some comparisons between some Celestron Grainite ED 12x50s, Bushnell Legend M 8x42s and Nikon Action EX 12x50s, the right rubber twist up eyecup on the Legend Ms (the side that also has the locking diopter mechanism) came off when I removed the eyepiece caps.
